Stehpen Sprouse was a fashion designer and artist credited with pioneering the 1980s mix of "uptown sophistication in clothing with a downtown punk and pop sensibility". Unfortunately Sprouse died in 2004 at the too-young age of 50. This week, as the Deitch Gallery launches the Sprouse exhibit, several limited-edition pieces of the 2009 collection will be available in Louis Vuitton boutiques nationwide, starting January 9. These new pieces — reinterpretations of the originals — are a tribute from Marc Jacobs to Sprouse and include the artist's graffiti as well as his monogram roses, all in bright neon colors.
